Everything Draws Me In.

A studio practice rooted in attention.

I am an artist. I am a woman. I am a mom and I am a wife. I am the daughter of teachers and makers. I am an art teacher twenty-two years in the practice. I am a residential faculty member at a boarding school. I am a friend and I am a confidant. I am a mentor. I am a dreamer and a doer. I am a runner and a gardener. I am a painter. I paint primarily in oils, although sometimes the surfaces I paint on aren't always canvas. I also like to work mixed media, involving nature (trees/sticks/rocks) into my works. I incorporate charcoal and cardboard and any other found object materials I feel reflect the image I'm reaching for into my works. I teach 2D Design and Drawing courses so my work reflects the inspiration I get while explaining a lesson, although I love to craft a 3D design challenge. I like to sit down and design with my students, then take that inspiration into my studio and create art. I'm inspired by the nature I see on my long training runs, as well as the architecture in the buildings around campus, in town and in road trip adventures around the world. My education not only comes from my years in college and graduate school but from my students, as I am always learning and experiencing new things with them in the classroom.

Caroline studied art at the State University of New York at Geneseo, going on to earn her graduate degree at the Pratt Institute of Art and Design. Her work has been exhibited in galleries across New Jersey and New York and her work is held in private collections throughout the United States.

She lives and works in Pennington, New Jersey, she shares a studio with her husband that overlooks their garden.
